New MSN identity by Digit

Digit is understood to have worked on Microsoft’s famous butterfly MSN logo, ahead of the brand’s relaunch in the US next year.

The new MSN homepage is based on the principle of simplicity and cutting through the clutter to help you get more out of the internet. It represents what people want from the brand and what the service now offers. The new visual identity reflects this approach and is a cleaner, simpler representation of what the brand stands for.

“The redesign represents the start of a journey, the start of a truly modern brand. We are looking forward to continue to work with Microsoft” Daljit Singh, Executive Creative Director, Digit.

I'm quite use to the previous logo though, but the redesign will probably grow on me too. The overall look, fell and presentation of the rebranding does look great! I like that font too.

In the new version everything is a lot cleaner and easier to read. As always there are a number of articles to hold your interest for a good while, but the layout is definately an improvement. Also, you will notice the simplicity of the Bing search bar which provides no clutter.

Why green you may ask? Green symbolizes: life, nature, fertility, well being
Green is the color of nature, fertility, life. It symbolizes self-respect and well being and is favoured by well balanced people, and contains the powerful energies of nature, growth, desire to expand or increase. Balance and a sense of order are found in the color green.

Also change and transformation is necessary for growth, and so this ability to sustain changes is also a part of the energy of green.
